The Emirates Architecture Open is a platform for - open house format - public design events that aims to showcase outstanding contemporary projects built by local design firms in the UAE for all to experience. Participants will be given the opportunity to visit four recently completed projects designed and executed by local architecture and landscape firms along with the key designers themselves. We believe these events will help the participants in developing a deeper understanding of the design concerns and challenges of contemporary designers in the Emirates.
The focus of these events are to foster design centric dialogues and to allow for sharing of knowledge between the experts and the visitors, as well as to highlight some exemplary home-grown design talent, thereby truly showcasing the value of good design in the built environment of the city and furthering the development of the Emirates as a ‘Global Design Hub’.
These events are part of the Dubai Design Week 2020. #DXBDW2020
Who can attend?
All sections of the public as well as the design fraternity, including students, designers and contractors can apply to participate, absolutely for free. We would however, limit the number of participants to control the number of visitors per site and maintain social distancing.
What can you expect?
The participants would have an opportunity to get a guided tour of the shortlisted projects in the city and the opportunity to engage with the architect/designer in a dialogue at the site. We hope the same will lead to an interesting discussion about the
state of contemporary architecture in the city.
