The Emirates Architecture Open is a platform for - open house format - public design events that showcases outstanding contemporary projects built by local design firms in the UAE for all to experience.

The focus of these events were to foster design centric dialogues and to allow for sharing of knowledge between the experts and the visitors, as well as to highlight some exemplary home-grown design talent, thereby truly showcasing the value of good design in the built environment of the city and furthering the development of the Emirates as a ‘Global Design Hub’.

The first edition of these events were part of the Dubai Design Week and was successfully held over the weekend of 13th & 14th November 2020. #DXBDW2020

 

We had over 80 people attending small group tours (following strict covid-19 safety protocols) to visit three contemporary projects designed by the following Architects/Designers across the city:

1. Waiwai Design - Jameel Arts Center and Sculpture Park, Al Jaddaf (Architecture and Landscape project)

2. Kamelia Landscape - Hameni Tower, JVC (Landscape project)

​

3. Sharjah Art Foundation & SpaceContinuum Design Studio - The Flying Saucer. Sharjah (Architecture project)
